5 Interesting things week of October 6th 2025
- Start your day with poetry
Read something uplifting to set the tone for your day — try The Daily Poem from poets.org. For deeper appreciation of poetry, check out the book How to Read a Poem and Fall in Love with Poetry And if you are unsure about a poem’s meaning? Paste it into a GPT tool and ask for an explanation. - Exploring musical sketches
Day 4 of musical sketches shows how Strudel can be used to create music. While environments like this can feel more complex than working directly in Ableton, I like how he’s building intricate rhythms to feed into Ableton. Strudel also has a REPL for experimenting with the language — though if you want to output MIDI to Ableton, you’ll need Chrome (due to Web MIDI support). - Finding Inspirational art online
With Pinterest flooded by AI-generated content and Instagram hiding the artists you follow, I’ve been searching for better sources of inspiration. So far, Behance and ArtStation have been great. It’s ironic — as the internet grows, finding truly good content gets harder due to the platforms catering to the lowest common denominator to maximize profits. I can see the future, and it's nothing but AI generated videos of people getting hit in the crotch.
