5 Interesting things week of September  22nd 2025

  1. Field Notes released their fall flowers edition. My theory is the more of these you have, the more guilty you feel for not finding interesting things to fill them with; thus you end up filling them with more interesting things.

  1. Pentel Sign Pen ; I've been using these to stop myself from adding too much detail right away in my field notes. I start with Big flowing strokes or letters, and then if I need to add more text or detail I switch to a fine tipped pen like the uni*bal Signo .28

  2. The Bridges Archive an online repository of every paper ever published in the annual Bridges Conference on art and mathematics. I haven't made it through all of these, but a lot of inspiration on mixing math and art here.

  3. Multi-Scale Truchet Patterns ; Truchet Tiles are a fun way to make patterns, and in the linked post, the author finds a way to combine different sized tiles.

  1. Curved Line Jellyfish "simple" algorithm to create some amazing results. Also check out her Build Shapes which look pretty amazing and reinforces what I said in this post about using AI to help implement your ideas faster.

5 Interesting things this week, is a way to force myself to go out and find 5 things I find interesting; hopefully anyone that happens to stumble upon this page also gets some enjoyment out of it.
